Immuno Reagents from the Source Medicago develops and manufactures a wide range of immuno reagents, including monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies as well as antigens from bacteria, parasites and other sources plus synthetically manufactured antigens and antigen analogues. We also offer complete kits for the in vitro diagnosis of parasite diseases in rabbits and rodents. These include Carbon Immuno Assay (CIA) for Encephalitozoon cuniculi and Enzyme Linked Immunoassay (ELISA) for E. cuniculi and T. gondii.

Scientists at Medicago have broad experience in the production and purification of antibodies used in the general in vitro diagnostics markets. We provide full service from design of the antigen and immunisation protocol to immunisation, harvesting, fusion, sub-cloning and production. We have developed special expertise in producing monoclonal antibodies against very small molecules (molecular weights down to 190 g/mol) by binding an antigen molecule analogue to a larger carrier protein in order to induce immune response.

Our antibodies are developed in mice, rats, rabbits, goats and other animals.

he Encephalitozoon cuniculi (E. cuniculi) antigen suspension consists of about 30 million spores per ml. The spores, killed by heating, are washed and suspended in phosphate buffered saline solution (PBS) containing 0.1% formalin. The E. cuniculi antigen suspension is to be used together with carbon suspension in Medicago’s CIA test.
