Transfection reagent specific for insect cells

Insectogene™ is an aqueous formulation of positively charged lipids (1mg/ml). It is especially optimised for the liposome-mediated transfection of insect cells. Efficiencies are much higher than transfection of insect cells with Ca-phosphate, DEAE-Dextran and other reagents.

Insect cells play an important role for the baculovirus expression system which has become one of the most powerful eukaryotic vector systems for recombinant protein expression.
