Application Note: Improved vision of cyclic-phosphate RNAs
Wednesday, 4 June 2025
APPLICATION NOTE | Improved vision of cyclic-phosphate RNAs | Our understanding of non-coding RNAs have been greatly propelled by the popularization of next generation sequencing. However, RNA-seq fails to capture a specific type of non-coding RNA called 2’,3’-cyclic phosphate RNA (cP-RNA). These RNAs have important roles in tRNA repair and splicing, and in RNA repair pathways in a wide variety of organisms. This new application note highlights several methods for studying cP-RNAs, including: - cP-RNA-seq: An RNA sequencing method that specifically captures 2’,3’-cyclic phosphate RNAs
- In vitro and chemical synthesis of cP-RNAs to enable studies of cP-RNA biology
