The Ames MPF 1537 assay comprises the histidine auxotrophic Salmonella tester strain TA1537 for detecting frameshift mutations and all media required to perform the assay. Kits including additional S9 and Positive Controls are also available.
TA1537 detects chemicals like acridine dyes and anthraquinones which are negative in the other MPF strains.
