Human genomic DNA derived from placentae is derived from foetal cells and also a small number of maternal cells. The maternal cells fall away when the placenta is delivered following birth. Human placental genomic DNA is uniquely suited to many different uses in molecular biology. Human genomic DNA can be used in applications where nucleic acid blocking is required such as Southern hybridisation, specialised cytogenetic assays, fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH), northern hybridisation and as PCR controls. Cambio’s human placental genomic DNA will specifically block human random repeat sequences making it an ideal blocker for hybridisation experiments. Our human genomic DNA is supplied as convenient small pack sizes (micrograms to milligrams) but we also supply in bulk (gram quantities) as required.
Applications
Internal controls in PCR assays:
- PCR-ready HP DNA is supplied at a handy concentration for PCR and does not require any additional purification (available as female, male or mixed sex multiple donors)
- PCR-ready mini-libraries allow for an increased number of PCR control HP DNA samples to work with
- Mixed-sex multiple donor HP DNA provides increased flexibility with PCR controls
- Multiple donor DNA ensures additional blocking if required
Cambio’s intact human placental intact genomic DNA is isolated from fresh human, male, female or mixtures (mixed sex, multiple donors) human placentae by phenol/ chloroform extraction. The DNA is of high molecular weight and high purity. FOR LABORATORY USE ONLY.
Healthy donors
The placentae used for obtaining the DNA are from healthy donors that have tested negative for the following: Hepatitis (Hep-B & Hep C); Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1 and HIV-2); Human T-cell Lymphotropic Virus (HTLV-1 & HTLV-2); Treponema Pallidum.
Should intact or PCR-ready human genomic DNA not be exactly what you need then also see Hybridime (our sonicated human genomic DNA).
