With reduced hands-on steps, removing a washing and a drying step, sbeadex™ Lightning is easy for both manual and automated workflows and is compatible with most popular robotic platforms for high-throughput. Fewer protocol steps also significantly reduces liquid and plastic waste for improved sustainability.

How does sbeadex™ Lightning work?


sbeadex™ magnetic beads enable automated high-throughput extraction and purification of high-quality nucleic acids from a variety of cell types. 

The superparamagnetic particles, coated with sbeadex™ surface chemistry, employ a novel binding mechanism that ensures effective removal of impurities from the sample matrix. This innovative technology cuts time to only 11 minutes by requiring only a binding buffer, our proprietary sbeadex™ particles, and an elution buffer. The wash step is performed with water, preventing organic/alcoholic traces in the eluate that might inhibit enzymatic downstream applications. This eliminates the need for a drying step before elution, further enhancing DNA quality.
