Description

TGF-beta is secreted by many cell types, including macrophages, in a latent form in which it is complexed with two other polypeptides, latent TGF-beta binding protein (LTBP) and? latency associated peptide (LAP). Serum proteinases such as plasmin catalyze the release of active TGF-beta from the complex. This often occurs on the surface of macrophages where the latent TGF-beta complex is bound to CD36 via its ligand, thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1). This aptamer was selected by scientists at Base Pair Biotechnologies using proprietary methods and recombinant? Latency Associated Peptide (LAP), [R&D Systems, Cat# 246-LP/CF]? as a target.

Target:   LAP / TGF beta 1 Complex (Latency Associated Peptide, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1)

Target Species:   human

Target Type:   protein

Affinity Constant (Kd):   17.5 nM

Default 3' Linker (Spacer) is 10T. Please submit a custom quote request for other options.

Notes

Please note that aptamers have much lower molecular weights than antibodies. Thus, there are typically five to fifteen times as many moles or molecules of aptamers present in a solution containing an equal mass. For example, 100 micrograms of an aptamer is equivalent to 0.5 to 1.5 mg of antibody, depending on the particular aptamer.
