Chloride intracellular channel protein 1, CLIC1, is found primarily in
the nucleus and nuclear membrane. It can insert into membranes to form
chloride ion channels. Membrane insertion is redox-dependent (occurring
under oxidizing conditions) and channel activity is pH-dependent. CLIC-1
is involved in the regulation of cell cycle.
