Vomitoxin, or deoxynivalenol (DON), is a micotoxin produced by the
fungus Fusarium graminearum. Wheat and barley grain infected by Fusarium
head blight (FHB) can affect food flavor, affect weight gain in
livestock, and cause illness at very high levels. Per the FDA, vomitoxin
or DON levels in human food products must be below 1-ppm.
